I have had it, I keep thinking that this is the last straw. But if the Catholic Church keeps doing any more ca-ca like this - I may venture over to the Methodists or somehting.

It's September 2nd.

I thought this man was going to step down in August of 2009.

What happened - or is my "predicition" coming true?

He has to wait until the Vatican approves his retirement.

And she shouldn't be surprised. She is a Catholic nun, knows the teaching against women priest (not that I agree with it), and continues to support it.

I just think if gay hookers is your thing, you should mention it to your wife. Who knows she might want to mention it to the gynecologist next trip.

agh...I can't believe I am in agreement with him on this!
But...if you are a member/employee of an organization <-- she is
and you are blatently going against their rules/doctrine <-- she was
They have the right and obligation to fire you....i e remove you from your position.

HIM, I agree with you. She knows how the church stands on this issue. Sure, she has every right to have her own opinion but she doesn't have that right to express it given her work and position in the Church

HIM, I understand that, but that principle has been inconsistently applied by our Archbishop.

What bothers me about this is that he found her opinion about women so egregious that she couldn't keep her job, but priest who were known to have abused children were silently shuffled to other parishes.
