I have been telling my hubby that I wanted to get an exersaucer for our DD. Well, the other day we were passing by some apartments and what do I see sitting in front of the dumpster...an exersaucer! So I tell my husband to pull in so I could look at it. After looking at it, I saw that all the toys were working, nothing was broken and all it needed was a good cleaning. So after a very good scrub down, it is looking like new and my DD loves it.

This got me wondering how many other people have done this?

Dh has many times !! LOL  We are not too proud. My DH has removed things from peoples trash to keep or has turned around and sold it on craigslist.  Tractors, Tv's, cabinets.....etc.   He jokes he is the only one to drive up in a beemer and pick garbage,   (he sold bmw too though) and my ds turns five shades of red.

I drove by my neighbors' up the street this morning... they had some nice big pumpkins out for the trash and I was going to dig out the seeds and roast them. But someone already beat me to it.

Then I went for a walk with the dog... and came home with 5 or 6 extra sets of coupon inserts and 30 Coke Rewards points.

My son brought me a Civil War Era mantle clock that keeps perfect time and has the original key.

He thought it was kind of cool. I love it.

I found an appraisal on the internet. It's worth a couple hundred bucks.

I got a perfectly good Little Tykes ride on truck from the crub the other day.    The people had put a "Free" sign on a collection of stuff so it really wans't trash, but it was still on the curb.  I don't understand why people throw out perfectly good stuff.  At least put a sign on it and if no one takes it, then throw it out.

Depends on the item. I worry about bedbugs.

I onlty collect dirt...for my garden...everyone throws away hanging potted plants and their fall mums...full of wonderful soil for my outdoor gardens, totally free of charge...I guess I'm a composter, not garbage picker.

So many people believe in you, make sure you're one of them.

I got a little tykes picnic table from the trash a couple years ago. I drug it home, washed it off, and put it together. My kids loved it.

I have no shame.

However, I will not touch anything "plush" ie: a couch, curtains, etc. ICK!
