I would really appreciate some advice.

We live in a house on the edge of a small lake (actually a retention pond).  We have a ton of spiders around and in our house - evidently because we live near water.

When I first moved in 4 years ago, DH had been living here for about 8 years.  The spider problem was OUT OF CONTROL.  They were all over the place - giant cobwebs all over the exteriors of the windows, the deck was basically unusable, etc.  I had terminix (or a similar company) out to exterminate every 3 months until about 18 months ago, when I found out I was pregnant.  I stopped the contract then and haven't had the service come back yet.  Well, my twins are now 6 months and the spiders are again taking over the place.  I was feeding DD yesterday and picked up a burp rag -- there was a nasty spider on it!  Ugh!

Are there any natural alternatives that can help us out? Any companies that offer environmentally friendly and safe pest control?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

We used an organic pest control company when we lived in Arizona, so I know they exist. I'm not sure about this area. For spiders and scorpions, our Arizona pest guy used a power of finely crushed seashells, which he puffed into all vents and outlets. He said they inhale it, dehydrate and die. He also went around the outside of the house and literally removed spiders from the exterior walls. It can take a very long time to reduce spider populations and you have to keep with it or the population climbs again.

I have just the company for you!  http://www.responsibleservices.com/  It is eco-friendly pest control.  Jeff Teague (the owner?)  treated the preschool I work for and we were very pleased with his services.

Thank you Mom's!

Your concerns about exposing our children to pesticides are exactly why I started my business.  My son who is 4 now mad me take a look at what options were available and Cincinnati and realize a need for effective control and reduced risk.   We have many services that follow this pattern.

Please feel free to check out our website here Resposible Services
