Desperately need a computer monitor for cheap cheap cheap or free

I lost my job in May and have been using my laptop which has a broken screen with a monitor attached to it since about June.  Today, my monitor died.  I need use of my computer to apply to jobs, without it, I have no backup or way of printing resumes or sending them electronically.  If you have a monitor that you can give or sell to me, I would really appreciate it.  I don't need anything fancy, I just need to be able to see what I am doing.

Thank you so much.   I actually had a close friend who let me borrow thiers and another who then said I could have one.  I appreciate it though.
