Why is this woman so upset?  They paid $100,000 to fix her house and she throws a fit over purses that are in a box?

Another embarrasment for our area.

That woman sounds crazy.  How can you say you don't have a problem.  Look around!!  I bet the house is getting messy by the day and that is why they won't promote it.  Why not show off your beautiful house??

She has a mental problem called hoarding.  It's a type of OCD behavior.  My friend's dh has it and it's a horrible disorder.  He doesn't have it to the extent this woman has it, but he has 8 lawnmowers in the basement that he's just picked up over the past few years out of people's trash.  EIGHT!  He cannot throw ANYTHING away.  It is interfering in their marriage.  It's sad really.  This woman needs therapy desperately.

Hoarding is a addiction, which is what this lady has. The person needs to WANT to get help. Just because her house was made over doesn't mean that she wanted to change. Afterall, her daughter is the one who entered her. I know someone who has this disease and have tried to help her on several accounts, with no such luck.

I understand addiction... I worked in that field for many years as a counselor.  My issue is that she was rude and ungrateful.  It was/is her house and she could have said "NO" before they came.  Her house was damaged and literally falling in on her, it was infested with mice, she could not find food...  they saved her and her daughter from this and she runs away?  I understand the initial shock... but she still won't talk with them?

She managed to work her entire life as a police detective, so she should at least know how to deal with people.  She could have politely told Clean House not to come to her home.  She could have stopped production once she was overwhelmed... she did NOT have to wait until they spent $100,000 on her before acting like selfish and inconsiderate.

Wow!    She is a retired police detective???  Do they have psychos in the police department?

They also had mice infestation on top of all the junk.  They couldn't find the food they just bought so had to buy more?   Maybe the rodents ate it.  Plus her washer and dryer didn't work.  Sounds like they couldn't be too clean either.

What a strange sick pair of Cincinnatians.

PS: Read the comments under the article.  Some of them are hilarious.

Wow, that is embarassing.  She is obviously in denial about her problem.  I bet her house would've caved in on her had it not been for that show and her daughter getting her on it.  I just don't understand how people can live like that.

I think it's hard to judge someone when you know only one half of the story.  How do we know the producers didn't do or say something to disrespect this family that wasn't shown on the show? This article is very one-sided.  Yes, as it stands, she sounds extremely ungrateful and rude, but do we know the whole story? No...it's so easy to judge people when you read something in the paper/see something on the TV.  But we ALL know how media can twist things around.  How would you like to be in her shoes? I agree, if there wasn't anything on the other side to make her behave this way, she definitely owes them an apology...but I wouldn't be so quick to condemn her and her daughter.

Oh, and for the record, I don't understand how ANYONE can live like that, either.  I get frustrated when the kitchen counter gets cluttered! LOL! My house is far from spotless with two fuzzy dogs and two cats and a messy husband, but it's clean and things have their place.  *shudder*
